Couple Caught Engaging in Public Intimacy on Thai Street

A couple from China has found themselves in hot water after being caught having sex in public in Pattaya, Thailand. Oh Zhihang, 67, and Lin Tingting, 35, set up a tripod and recorded their intimate moments on the street, drawing the attention of shocked onlookers.

The incident occurred on a busy Wednesday afternoon near the entrance to the popular Walking Street. A security guard noticed the couple’s actions and promptly alerted the police. Officers arrived at the scene and were able to take action based on photos the guard had captured before the couple left.

Police tracked the couple to their hotel and brought them in for questioning. Footage of their awkward ride in the elevator and their walk to the police station has since circulated online, highlighting the embarrassment of the situation.

During their questioning, Zhihang claimed he was unaware that public sex was illegal in Thailand. He explained through an interpreter that he enjoys traveling and taking nude photos in various locations around the world. The couple expressed regret for their actions, apologizing to the Thai people for tarnishing the image of Pattaya.

Authorities stated that the couple could face fines for public indecency, which could reach up to 5,000 Baht (about $149). Additionally, if they are found guilty of violating the Computer Crime Act by sharing their explicit content, they could face a much steeper fine of 100,000 Baht (around $2,985) or even imprisonment for up to ten years.

Police Colonel Songwut Chueplakij confirmed that the couple would face legal action for their behavior. He urged tourists visiting Pattaya, especially with the upcoming Songkran Festival, to respect local laws and customs.

This incident follows another recent case where a Russian couple was filmed engaging in sexual acts on a busy beach in Pattaya, raising concerns about public decency in the popular tourist destination known for its vibrant nightlife and beaches.
